Simple Hand Exercises Boosting Your Energy And Health

Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient Japanese alternative form of touch therapy that has been proven to improve moods and increase energy levels through hand stimulation.

Massage and Bodywork Quarterly states, “It is a physio-philosophy that involves the application of the hands for gently balancing the flow of life energy in the body; more generally, it is the awakening to awareness of complete harmony within the self and the universe”

Let’s face it, on a weekday we need all the help we can get and if increasing your energy level is as simple as a self administered hand massage, I think you should know the secret.

Simple Hand Exercises: The Jin Shin Jyutsu Method

The belief is that each finger is connected to different organs within your body, and each finger pertains to a different attitude and emotion. You can refer to the image to see which fingers are related to which emotion.

When you massage your hand, focus on the finger correlating to the emotion you want to diffuse or the organ that you feel needs relief.

If you want to do an entire body revitalization, then massage each finger as well as your palm. Remember to engage your entire hand, on all sides. Your fingers should receive a 360 degree treatment!

Studies have shown that when people engage in Jin Shin Jyutsu they feel significant results, including reduced nausea and increase relaxation and improved sleeping patterns.

Some have made correlations between the fact that the thumb is connected to tensions and stress and that massaging the thumb can help someone sleep. Could this be the reason why babies suck their thumbs?

There is also a thought that people associate the middle finger with anger, which explains why showing someone the middle finger is such an angry and aggressive gesture.

Unfortunately in this day and age, we have to take every defense against the chemicals, pollutants and toxins that are bodies are subject to. As you know, there are certain chemicals that contribute toward depression and sadness, which are found in our food, products, air and the materials we come in contact with.

When you feel sad and depressed, your energy level plummets, making the day seem long and dreary. These hand massages can turn your day around and help you stay on top of your emotions.

Why not try it out on some friends first? Even though you can do it yourself, there’s nothing better than receiving a nice long hand massage (I’m sure your friends will be happy to be your experiment!).
